DRAFT RESOLUTION TO AMEND EXISTING AND PENDING LOANS TO AUTOMAKERS
Where as, the California Congressional Delegation SHOULD sponsor/co-sponsor amendatory language to correct the absence of natural gas (CNG and LNG) as an alternative fuel in the existing and pending loans legislation to the Detroit automakers; and
Where as, natural gas is recognized and approved by the EPA, the California Air Resources Board, the South Coast Air Quality Manage District, and the California Energy Commission as bonafide alternative fuels for use in vehicles, such as, public transit buses, school buses, trucks in our seaports,and airports,sanitation districts truck fleets, law enforcement fleets, taxi cabs, and private vehicles, IN GENERAL; and
Where as, it is the private automobile that emits the most pollutants into our atmosphere. It is time to confront this problem head on by switching to an alternative fuel that is not gasoline; and
Where as, Toyota, and Honda are on board by showing their CNG MODELS at the L. A. Auto Show, it is time for the Detroit automakers to renew their production of CNG auto models; and
Whereas, natural gas is clean burning, reduces air pollution, and does not contribute to green house gases, because green house gases reduce the earth's ozone layer, which melts the earth's glaciers. When the glaciers melt enough, the earth's coastal cities and states, such as, Boston, New York City, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Florida, New Orleans, Galveston, Houston, San Diego, parts of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, and Alaska would be flooded; and
Where as, global warming scientists say that the glaciers could melt enough in the next 30 to 50 years to begin this APOCALYPSE, this must be given the highest priority.
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED THAT THIS RESOLUTION ENCOURAGE PRESIDENT ELECT OBAMA, GOVERNOR SWARZENEGGAR, SENATORS BOXER , FEINSTEIN, AND ALL OF THE MEMBERS OF THE CALIFORNIA CONGRESSIONAL DELELGATION TO SUBMIT AMENDATORY LANGUAGE TO THE EXISTING AND PENDING LOAN LEGISLATION FOR THE DETROIT AUTO MAKERS TO INCLUDE NATURAL GAS (CNG & LNG) AS AN ALTERNATIVE FUEL FOR VEHICLES, IN GENERAL.

Compressed Natural Gas is not the answer
We have lot's of Oil in Iraq and after this mess we are in ... we are obligated buy it at a premium price! And we cannot let Russia in on making big bucks from their abundant resource of natural gas.
